Question & Answer

Will you help us violate the ADA?

We are building a hotel. We may not totally adhere to the requirements for handicapped accessible rooms. What could the penalties be? Thank you.

Rita Risser's response:

You want us to help you do the cost-benefit analysis of deliberately violating the law? Sorry, we don't work that way. There is good reason for the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements on accessibility. As you and your loved ones age and become disabled, you will directly benefit from the changes being made in all facilities as a result of this law. I truly hope you will do everything you can to make your hotel a welcoming place for all travelers, especially those with disabilities.
