We fired employee - do we have to pay her for the day we fired her? 03-09-2005

If a employee comes into work and is presented with her termination paperwork before her shift starts and sent home immediately what is the minimum hours that we need to pay her by law for coming in that day?

Rita Risser replies:

In your state of California, employees who show up for work and do not perform any duties are entitled to two hours show up pay, unless the reason they cannot work is due to an Act of God.
