Question & Answer

Can we put the name of injured employees on incident reports? 09-06-2006

Will the right to privacy law be violated if I include the name of the injured employee on the email notice to the executives and safety committee at the time of injury?

Rita Risser replies:

It possibly could be a violation of HIPPA or the right to privacy, and I can think of no good reason why you should include the name. Can you? When in doubt, don't.
