Can we force an exempt employee to work 8 hours per day? 02-11-2009

Ann Kiernan replies:

Of course you can! And if they work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week, you don't have to pay overtime wages. But, as you can see from a later question, don't try to dock their pay if they don't work a full week.
