Is it illegal to make a Saturday mandatory? We have an employee who stated it was illegal to have a “mandatory Saturday” workday. I just want some clarification, please.

Who knows how these urban legends get started? You certainly can mandate Saturday work! Of course, you must pay overtime if non-exempt employees work more than 40 hours, and if an employee has a religious objection to Saturday work, you must explore whether a reasonable accommodation can be reached.
