Federal and state laws on workers’ compensation, family and medical leave, and disability accommodation meet at what employment experts call the “Bermuda Triangle” of employment laws. Navigating employment decisions becomes complicated by compliance with these various statutes. In this engaging and informative online training, taught by Fair Measures attorney-trainers, managers and supervisors learn their responsibilities related to medical and disability leave and the overlap of these laws in the triangle, how to spot the “red flags” and seek help from human resources and other company assigned experts, thereby greatly reducing the risk of corporate and personal liability for violations.

Managing Leaves of Absence - Family Leave

Participants will learn:

  • Learn about laws on employee leave and disability accommodation.
  • Analyze the interaction of the ADA, FMLA and Workers’ Compensation Laws.
  • Understand what are essential functions and how to set performance standards.
  • Apply the law and company policy to examples.
  • Overview the legal aspects of OSHA, corporate criminal liability and workers compensation.
  • Be inspired by the spirit of the law.
